Description

Welcome to this official Mindbug online tournament !

#### RULES

This is an open tournament with a maximum of 64 players. Anyone can participate, you just need to be available for about 1 hour every 48 hours during 2 to 3 weeks after tournament start.

The winner of the tournament will receive a playmat.

For entering the tournament, you'll need to provide your Discord ID : click on your account in the top right corner, then click on profile, then "edit" and add your discord ID. It's also highly recommended to join the official Discord server following this link : https://discord.gg/n57N2Uvx4w

Format

The tournament will have two phases : - First phase is a Swiss round qualifier. The number of rounds depends on the number of players (3 rounds for 16 players or less, 4 rounds for 17 to 32 players, 5 rounds for 33 players or more). Matches will be played in a best-of-3-games format. - Second phase is a single elimination playoff in which the seedings will be made from the final ranking of the qualifier (first vs last, etc...). The number of players qualified for that final phase depends on the number of players in the tournament : 4 players if 16 players or less, 8 players if 17 players or more. Matches will be played in a best-of-5-games format.

The ranking of the qualifier will be made following these criterias in order : 1) Number of points of the player (1 point for a win, 0.5 point for a draw, 0 point for a loss) 2) Average percentage of win of all the player's opponents 3) Games win/loss difference of the player 4) Games win/loss difference of all the player's opponents 5) In the unlikely case of a perfect tie, a draw will be made to rank the tied players

Matches

Once your opponent is announced, you have 48 hours to contact and play the match with your opponent. You can have 24 more hours to play the match if needed, but the match must be scheduled in the first 48 hours.

The default platform for playing matches is Tabletopia, since it's free-to-play and available to everyone, but matches can be played on any other platform as long as both players agree.

If players use Tabletop Simulator, this is the recommended mod : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2444234177

Games must be played with the standard Mindbug First Contact deck (48 creatures), using the original ruleset.

When a player takes an action (playing a card, attacking with a creature, choosing target with Hunter, choosing a blocker, etc...), the action can only be taken back with players' mutual agreement and before any other action has been resolved.

Match support

1) We need more time to play or finish our match Before the end of the 48 hours window time for playing the round (a reminder will be send on Discord in the last hours), players must provide evidence that they have scheduled a precise time for playing the game. Only in this case they'll have 24 more hours to finish their game.

2) I have not been able to contact my opponent or, we have not been able to organize a time to play. Please keep record of all communication as the match will be considered a draw unless you can prove your opponent was suitably unavailable. Cases will be determined on a case-by-case basis please contact Heropon#1121 on Discord with your proof.

3) My opponent and I have a disagreement about who won after the match has already finished. It is hoped that players will be honest about match wins and losses however, it is difficult for tournament organizers to intervene without evidence or proof. Players may wish to take screenshots to track game wins/losses or use other tracking tools to prevent disagreement.
